Thursday and Sunday only. Check-in for the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Lu‘au begins at 5:15 p.m., followed by a lei greeting, Hawaiian music and photo opportunities, Hawaiian arts and crafts, plus beer, wine, and tropical alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. It features exhilarating authentic Polynesian entertainment with chants, songs and dances from all of the Polynesian islands including the ancient kahiko hula, the pulsating dances of Tahiti, the enchanting hula, the savage war dances of Fiji, the mesmerizing Otea of Tahiti and the exhilarating fire knife dance of Samoa.
The Lu‘au buffet includes local style potato salad, lomi lomi salmon, “two-finger” poi, sesame seared mahimahi, marinated grilled huli huli chicken, imu-style (underground oven) roasted kalua pig, grilled teriyaki steaks, roasted Hawaiian sweet potatoes, steamed coconut lemongrass island rice, coconut cream cake, macadamia nut cream tart and Hawaii’s favorite dessert, haupia, in coconut, mango, and pineapple flavors.
